Mechanic

Position summary: As a mechanic at Select, you’re a vital member of the manufacturing team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, testing and trouble-shooting, and more.

Essential job functions: As a tissue rewinder operator in our manufacturing facilities, you’ll:

  • Inspect, maintain and repair equipment and machinery to ensure they’re always in proper working order.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
  • Test and observe equipment and machinery using tools such as voltmeters and other testing devices to diagnose malfunctions and make repairs as needed.
  • Care for machinery and equipment by cleaning them after use, adjusting parts and lubricating moving components as needed to ensure proper, efficient function.
  • Daily, Weekly, monthly records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Record all maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.

Qualifications:

  • GED or equivalent
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the manufacturing team
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Previous experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing setting, or verifiable mechanic training

Fork Truck Operator

As a fork truck operator at Select, you’re a vital member of the manufacturing team. You’ll be responsible for preparing and loading order shipments to customers.

Type of Employment:

  • Full Time day shift 6:00am-6:00pm Monday – Friday
  • Full Time second shift 6:00pm-6:00am Monday – Friday

Qualifications:

  • You must have the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, stand for continuous periods of time, kneel, bend, twist with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • You must have the ability to complete paperwork for all Inbound/Outbound shipments with Finished Product or Raw Material description and quantities.
  • You must have the ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends/holidays, and overtime.
  • You must have the ability to professionally communicate and work in a team environment.
  • You must have a record of stable and continuous employment operating Fork Trucks.
  • You must be minimum 18 years of age.
  • You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities:

  • You must comply with and have commitment to all company Safety and Quality regulations including adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • You will be required to wear Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, a Hat or Hair Net in all production areas.
  • You will accurately complete paperwork for all Inbound/Outbound loads that includes material descriptions, quantities, destinations, Carrier Information, production numbers.
  • Safely operate a Fork Truck with Forks, Box Clamp, Roll Clamp to stack, tier, or move Finished Product, Raw Materials, Pallets, and equipment.
  • Safely load and unload trailers and transport materials to designated area with the highest quality standards.
  • Check product and Raw Materials on Inbound/Outbound to ensure quantities are correct and there is no damage.
  • Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Replace fuel tank on Fork Trucks.
  • Perform daily inspections and blow down of all Fork Trucks.
  • Participate in keeping the facility clean and orderly throughout the shift.

Shift Supervisor

As a shift supervisor at Select, you’ll be an essential member of the leadership team, overseeing the activities, production, and schedule of the assigned operating shift.

Essential Job Functions: As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll:

  • Works with Operations Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring manufacturing processes to meet daily goals
  • Resolve and troubleshoot any issues on your shift.
  • Communicate daily goals and expectations to staff on your shift.
  • Motivate shift workers to complete assigned tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GED or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting as a supervisor.
  • Understanding of manufacturing workflow.
  • Ability to set and meet goals.

Machine Operator

Type of Employment:

  • Full Time day shift 6:00am-6:00pm Monday – Friday
  • Full Time second shift 6:00pm-6:00am Monday – Friday

Qualifications:

  • You must comply with and have commitment to all company safety and quality regulations including adherence to good manufacturing practices.
  • You will be required to wear a hat or hair net in all production areas.
  • You must have previous experience in a manufacturing facility operating production machinery and/or equipment.
  • You must have the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, stand for continuous periods of time, kneel, bend, and twist with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • You must have the ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends/holidays, and overtime.
  • You must have the ability to professionally communicate and work in a team environment.
  • You must be able to visually inspect product for quality defects.
  • You must have the ability to pack bath tissue, kitchen towels, and napkins into appropriate case or stack per quality standard on pallets.
  • You must have a record of stable and continuous employment.
  • You must be, at minimum, 18 years of age.
  • You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
